Increasingly, young girls are trending toward early specialization in one sport, working with private coaches, and feeling pressure to join expensive club teams. Often, they are required to travel for their sport. When met with this level of intensity, especially early on, many girls choose—or need—to opt out. We, at Girls Play Sports, appreciate the priceless value of girls participating in team sports. Our team—the staff, volunteers, and advocates—works tirelessly to give all girls the opportunity to participate, the opportunity to belong and to discover who they are to reach their full potential.
