Team GPS

Team GPS offers the opportunity for middle school girls to deepens their exposure and instruction to two new sports each month.
FOR 4th – 8th GRADERS

As a follow-up to the GPS After School Clinics, Team GPS offers a comprehensive year-round opportunity that deepens the exposure and instruction to new sports each month. This year due to COVID-19, our programming will look slightly different. The first offering will be for Six weeks to make the most of the weather and will Include exposure to 12 different sports. See below for details.

At each Team GPS sessions, high school student-athletes teach the skills and drills while the GPS Director coordinates the discussion topics. A low athlete to instructor ratio will always stay below 6:1.

Each Team GPS session also has a social discussion component with topics such as health and nutrition, friendships and relationships, social media, bullying, drugs and alcohol, body image, career exploration and the psychology of sport.

Additionally, Team GPS engages these future leaders in discussion topics about critical topics that face young women today. The goal is to open up their mind to the possibilities that exist in sport while giving them the critical thinking skills to better navigate their future as strong, confident women.

The fall program will take place on Saturday’s from 10-12 at either Mason or Kamen park. Girls can sign up for either location and space will be limited to 40 athletes per park. Appropriate social distancing measures will be in place and all participants must wear masks.
